Individual Response Devices

How could they be used in education?

  1. These devices can be used in a number of ways:
    - To collect data for use in a lesson or activity
    - To test students and give them feedback for formative assessment allowing students to see if they are progressing or need to review anything

    Any other ideas?

  2. Wow, that's great you show us the indiviudal responses devices, as you know, our students are always motivated with instant feedback in teaching and learning.

  3. Maybe also try to use it in teacher assessment. Like Joe mentioned during class, in the higher education context, teachers assessment could be conducted with students responding and discussing right in front of teacher. With a list of choice shown on screen like what we've done in the class, students vote and teacher could be able to see the voting result immediately. A following discussion comes between students and teacher to show why this part is good or bad. This immediate response from students could reach teacher directly.

  4. The devices could also support a voting system for student decision making, with a 'student council' for example. This would allow the students to learn about democratic systems and decision making.
