  1. I guess Room 321 used recently during our course could be one example of integrating technology into education. Pretty cool to have such a modern study place in HKU. However, truth is not every course really needs it for teaching and learning better. To occationally experience it and frequently use it are totally different things. For latter case, teachers should know better how to design a course using technology inside if they decide to resident students within. Or else, it will be a waste of time and resources.

  2. Yes, I agree that we need to think about how to utilize this modern room effectively to enhance our teaching and learning. Although I am not sure the original objective of building up this room, I cannot feel any differences of having lessons in Room321 or in other general rooms such as Room104. So far, the facilities in Room321 mostly used are those different sizes of LCD monitors and webcams. It is not enough for enhancing and assisting the students’ participation in the class activities. I wonder this room whether is also for other faculties use or only for faculty of education use. If it can be used by other faculties like biology or physics, it may be a good platform for the observations and experiments by the student groups as well as the controlling and supervisory function by teachers.(Azalea)

  3. Yes, I agree! It seems no big differences of having lessons in other classroom. And it will be better to have some guide for users. Another problem is there is too much layer in a small area. It splits groups like cutting their contact. No enough of notebooks...
However, I like some features of Rm321. The projector and mic on every table makes presnetation much more easier. The screen besides each table allow users to enjoy the presentation or teaching.
Actually the room is quite good but not good enough.

On entering the room most people will be impressed. It is bright and modern looking and obviously 'different' to the other classrooms. The technology, lighting and furniture are also great. The ability to observe a class in action is also a good feature. But for me to decide what I really feel about the room I would need to consider its purpose.

I think there is a lot of potential for the room to be used to develop group work within a class and to allow for greater levels of technology integration into the classes. I would be concerned if all the monitors and other equipment were turned on all the time an only used for visual effect. This would obviously use a lot of energy. Developing an understanding of 'good practice' for the room may take a little time.
